Our Mission
To increase Jewish life, identity, and connection on Nantucket through engaging traditional and educational programs and social services for all ages.
Our Vision
A center and hub on-island where Jewish people of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to live their Judaism, love their community, and learn about their heritage, in a friendly and non-judgmental environment. The center will positively impact the entire Nantucket community.
Our Programs
We bring Jewish life to Nantucket through a wide range of experiences: Shabbat dinners that bring people together around the table, uplifting services, engaging classes and one-on-one learning, youth activities, holiday celebrations, and meaningful community gatherings. Each program is designed to be open and inviting, offering everyone a path to connect.
The Chabad Movement
Chabad is the largest international Jewish movement, with over 3,500 centers in nearly 1,000 cities worldwide, including all 50 U.S. states. Widely recognized as a leader in Jewish and growth and engagement, Chabad connects with people of all backgrounds through education, community programs, and acts of kindness, inspiring Jewish connection and growth. Chabad of Nantucket is proud to be an affiliate of Chabad of Cape Cod and the Islands, founded and directed by Rabbi Yekusiel and Devorah Alperowitz.
Our Inspiration
Chabad of Nantucket is guided by the vision of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, who transformed the movement into a global force for Jewish life. His boundless love, optimism, and belief in the unique potential of every person continue to inspire our work here, bringing light, community, and Jewish connection to Nantucket.
